If you are getting ready to go on holiday and are wondering which The North Face Rolling Thunder would suit you best, then this size comparison chart might be useful!
The dimensions quoted are given assuming that the Travel Bag is laying flat, as if you were loading your case.
The North Face Rolling Thunder Wheeled Travel Bags are a firm favourite of ours. No matter which size suits your trip best, they share the design features that make them such a delight to use.
The in-line skate wheels glide smoothly and easily around the airport and also across tarmac, so getting to your waiting bus or taxi is simple too. The retractable mountain bike-style handle pops out at the touch of a button and the grip ensures comfort as you tow the bag along. The Rolling Thunder 36 doesn't have the retractable handle as you'd have to be a giant to make use of it! The top handle is angled for easy wheeling and weight distribution though.
Bomber Basecamp fabrics really are super-tough. Great for making it through the airline travel process, but also this fabric is, to all intents and purposes, waterproof, so if your bag has to sit outside in the rain for a while, then your clothing will still be safe and dry inside. If you are already familiar with The North Face Basecamp Duffel, then you'll know what I mean!
Then there are the little touches that you won't really notice, but that do make a big difference to usability; the carry handles are placed intuitively and are easy to grab hold of on the luggage carousel. ID windows ensure that you needn't be fumbling around writing ID tags in the queue at the check in desk - with the Rolling Thunder it will always be there! Lockable chunky zips and compression straps ensure security. Even the smaller travel bag has organising pockets, including one to keep your passport close to hand.
The North Face Rolling Thunder 19 is small enough to meet most European standards for carry-on luggage, so that you can bring a surprising amount of kit and bypass the luggage collection wait altogether.
Packing your stuff into a Rolling Thunder is pimp-squeak as the zip opens right out allowing you to use it like a traditional suitcase. Deciding what to pack...now that's an entirely different matter!
